Greetings ~

From the 1950s through the 1990s, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle was largely forgotten. After a scandal that left a young starlet dead, his films were banned and his memory people tried to forget. Such a talented man in the early days of silent movies. Many of his early works are now lost and some are believed to have been destroyed. He did make somewhat of a comeback but was forced to work under a factious name. Silent film star, Buster Keaton proved to be Arbuckle's closest friend and stood at his side through many hardships. Keaton also made sure that Roscoe had an income when Hollywood ran out on him. Personally, I do not believe that Roscoe Arbuckle did anything wrong at the party he hosted in September 1921 for several celebrities in a hotel room. But a girl died there. Hollywood tried to convict him of murder. There has been evidence that shows Virginia Rappe died from kidney decease. But Arbuckle was believed to have accidently killed her in a wild sexual assault. After three trials, he was found innocent. But his career was mostly over and his fortune was gone. And there were many of his fans who believed in his guilt.
This blog is dedicated to a man who made so many laugh during a time of war and who was, by many friend's accounts, a gentle sole who wouldn't hurt a fly. It's such a shame what Hollywood did to so many of it's stars.
